2.门户网站的分类
根据网站所架设地点和管辖范围的不同，门户网站可以分为局域网门户网站和互联网门户网站。根据网站创办方和目标用户区分，可大致分为个人门户网站、政府门户网站、企业门户网站、专业门户网站、分类信息网站、综合门户网站，等等。
个人门户网站：在该网站可以查找到关于某个人所能提供的一切上网的信息，比如这个人的文字作品、图片、声音、视频以及联系方式，等等。
政府门户网站：在该网站可以查到关于某个政府或者某级政府所能提供的一切上网信息，一般会提供在政府有关机构办事的帮助指南，以及在线办事的平台。
企业门户网站：在该网站可以查到企业的业务范围，最新消息，针对媒体发放的信息，以及针对投资者的信息，等等。
专业门户网站：也叫作垂直门户网站，是以该网站自己的编辑工序集成其他媒体关于某一特定领域的报道，并托管在自己的服务器上展示。一般来说，科技、体育、娱乐、财经等领域比较容易出现专业门户网站。

我们现在回想，在20世纪90年代初，对于中国大多数的普通人来说，下班路上买一份报纸，以及每天晚上全家人围坐在电视前7点准时收看新闻联播是我们每天获取新闻资讯的主要渠道似乎也是我们的一种习惯。进入20世纪90年代末，随着计算机越来越普及，一个新的资讯获取方式进入了我们普通老百姓的生活——“新闻网站”。就像许多新的发明出现初始一样，刚开始从互联网上获取新闻资讯对于普通人来说还只是一件时髦的事，我们更多地使用互联网看新闻资讯是为了“温习”我们在报纸和电视上看过的新闻或者说是一种对于新闻资讯的补充。但很快，我们发现互联网上的新闻内容更加丰富并且不受时间的限制更加的方便，逐渐地越来越多的人开始更多地使用互联网来获取信息，而这些通过网络方式传播信息的网站也被我们称为“网络媒体”。
不知从何时起，我们发现周围的朋友、同事，每天打开计算机的第一件事便是通过互联网浏览一下今日的新闻。网络媒体已经成为我们生活中不可缺少的一部分，甚至减少了我们对于报纸、电视、广播的需求。
