《自控是门解压艺术：告别拖延、失控和坏情绪》：
再如，一家企业先期投入了大量资金，想要建立一家能源工厂。但基建已经完成，才发觉选址根本不适合，如果想盈利的话，最好另选他处建厂。在这种情况下，有些管理者会因为考虑到先前已经投入的资金，想着这些钱不能打水漂，于是又追加了投入。
同样的道理，考虑分手的情侣可能会转念一想，我们的关系并没有想象的那么差，他（她）其实也挺好；中标的人可能努力说服自己，赢得的战利品还是物有所值的；而企业可能忽略潜在的风险，认为被怀疑的问题不过是小题大做，进而继续投入。人们宁愿改变想法，也不愿意改变行为，在沉没成本的基础上继续追加投入。这到底是怎么回事呢？
心理学家们为沉没成本效应提供了一个解释。原来，与获得和已经拥有的东西相比，人们更在意的是损失。这一原理也很符合人们的常识感受，我们常看到人们因吃不到的“葡萄”耿耿于怀，一再强调葡萄有多酸，但吃到葡萄的人又有几个到处嚷嚷葡萄甜的呢？可见，人们对失去机会和损失的感受更加强烈。
既然过多关注沉没成本会将我们引入歧途，那么如何来修复这个心理机制，避免不良影响呢？
我们应当把视线从沉没成本上移开，变换视角考虑此时此地的处境，并以自己为出发点。
