第一章爱孩子，就要把孩子推出门——让孩子学做生活的主人
一、拒绝溺爱，不要让孩子依赖
溺爱对孩子来说犹如一个沼泽，往往会使孩子不知不觉地沉沦下去，直到遭遇灭顶之灾。过分的宠爱将会使孩子变成不知好歹、懒惰自私的人。
世界著名教育家马卡连柯说过：“父母对子女爱得不够，子女就会感到痛苦，但是过分的溺爱虽然是一种伟大的感情，却会使孩子遭到毁灭。”出于爱子之心，有些父母对孩子总是有求必应，即使他们的要求很不合情理，也不愿意拒绝。
已经是早上7点，再不起床就来不及去学校上早读了，但马佳还赖在床上。妈妈又过来催：“快点，快点，拿块面包去学校还来得及！”“不想去，今天老师不讲新课，去了也没有什么意思。求求你，妈妈，再帮我请一次假吧，最后一次，好不好？”马佳懒洋洋地说完又翻身睡着了。妈妈无奈地摇了摇头，走到客厅给老师打了个电话，马佳就又“病”了一回。
目前，许多父母努力工作的一个最大的愿望就是能够满足孩子足够多的物质需要。各种各样的玩具、营养品、小食品……吃、穿、住、行、用，几乎每一样都做到最好。
这样的溺爱孩子，给孩子一切物质上的满足并不是科学的教子方式。首先，这样的疼爱会让孩子对价值观失去正常的判断；因为孩子并不知道那些价格不菲的东西花去了父母收入的一大半。其次，不利于孩子健康成长。已经习惯了什么都是最好的，孩子自然不会明白什么叫艰苦朴素。

如何才能不溺爱孩子呢？教育专家向父母提供了如下良方：
方法一：把对孩子的爱藏一半
怜子之心，人人都有，但是爱怜不能缺乏理智，不能爱得太盲目，不能对孩子的一切要求都无条件地满足，那样做只能使孩子变得软弱。孩子小的时候招人喜欢，惹人怜爱，但是，做父母的不要忘了孩子不是玩物、宠物，要让孩子从小就懂得：自己是家庭成员中的一分子，要从小学会自立。
方建军的儿子小枫10岁，他最希望的事，就是坐父亲的小轿车上学，可爸爸总是拒绝他。一天，小枫再次请求父亲开车送他上学。方建军说：“不行，爸爸小时候也是走路上学的。”小枫流着泪，背上书包，向学校走去。他走到天桥时，发现父亲正站在桥上等他。
方建军替儿子拭去泪水，接过书包，和儿子一起走上去学校的路。一路上，方建军说：“孩子，你不要怪爸爸，你现在是学生，不能坐车上学，将来出息了，一定能买一辆比爸爸的车还要好的。”小枫理解了父亲的用意。
这位父亲就懂得正确的教子原则，他对孩子的爱藏起来了一半，使孩子从小学会自立。父母能替代孩子一时，却无法替代一世。早日放手，把对孩子真正的爱藏起一半，让孩子用自己的脚走路，才是正确的选择。
现在的孩子生活在一个被给予一切的时代。作为合格的父母，所给予孩子的最美好的东西，就是教会他们生存、生活以及创造的能力，而不是满足、娇惯或溺爱、放纵，这样才能给予他们一个健全的人格和自信的人生，才是真正的爱他们。
方法二：放手，让孩子去尝试生活
生活能力是人生存与发展的基本能力，这种能力不是天生的，而是从小培养出来的。父母要放手让孩子去尝试生活，逐渐培养出孩子自己照顾自己的习惯。
小陆琴拿着杯子歪歪斜斜地走过来，一下把水泼在沙发上，妈妈把她赶到一边，心疼地去收拾残局。小陆琴早上起来自己穿衣服，却总是把袖子穿反，把裤子拧成一团，妈妈会因为她耽误了时间而大声呵斥她，并动手代劳。
作为父母，如果禁止孩子自己动手做事、自己料理自己，或者干脆去为孩子代劳，那么，就是犯了一个极大的错误。其实，没有一个孩子不喜欢自己做事。孩子一会走就有帮助妈妈的愿望，两岁的孩子就会帮父母拿东西、跑跑腿，3岁的孩子自立愿望非常强烈，什么事情都想去干，但是他们还太小，独立活动能力还很差，常常会把事办糟。
这时，父母就应鼓励他们试一试。如果父母这样做，那么以后这样的失误，孩子自然就会避免了。
有位家长问马卡连柯：“我的孩子现在过于依赖我了，这到底是为什么？”马卡连柯反问：“你给孩子经常叠被吗？”家长答：“是的，经常叠。”马卡连柯又问：“你给孩子经常擦皮鞋吗？”家长答：“不错，经常擦。”马卡连柯说：“原因就在这里。”
父母应当明了自己的责任。父母的责任是帮助孩子生活，帮助孩子自立，帮助孩子做人。比如，孩子学做饭，父母不必担心他会做不好，在旁边监护着，只要教他方法，让他练习，孩子自然就学会了；父母还可以教孩子自己整理书架、书桌，自己布置房间，有条件就让他单独睡觉；可以教孩子管理经济费用，把零用钱存起来。总之，凡是孩子自己能办的事都要让他自己去尝试，让孩子出马，父母退在后面，否则会限制孩子的生存能力，削弱孩子的动手能力。
方法三：让孩子当一天家，学做主人翁
许多父母对孩子的过度照顾，剥夺了孩子动手做家务的机会。据不久前的一次抽样调查显示，某大城市的中小学生对家务劳动的疏远程度达到了令人吃惊的地步。调查表明：该市中小学生近六成起床后不叠被子；七成从不倒垃圾，也不扫地；八成不洗碗，不洗衣服；九成从不洗菜做饭；还有部分中小学生什么家务也不做，个别人连整理书包都还要父母代劳。是现在的孩子真那么懒，不肯做家务劳动吗？其实不然。
调查结果出人意料：有82％的中小学生表示愿意做家务；36％的学生认为做家务很开心，是一种乐趣；有40％的学生说父母不让做家务，也从不教他们怎么做。这些父母苦心包揽全部家务，使孩子们不仅不会做家务，更为可怕的是，使他们养成衣来伸手、饭来张口的习惯，以为别人为自己做什么都是应该的，却不知道自己也有关心与帮助别人的一份责任和义务。
为了改变孩子一切依赖父母的状况，让他们了解父母的辛苦与不易，将来能更好地适应社会，父母应该舍弃那种过分溺爱之情，给孩子创造一些机会，让孩子试着当一天家。
“让孩子当一天家”的活动除了安排在假期外，也可安排在周末。让孩子为第二天的生活与活动做一个预算与计划，然后从第二天早上起床开始，就由孩子上岗指挥与组织一天的家务与家庭活动。父母则在孩子指挥下加以配合，需要多少钱、买什么菜、到哪里玩、坐什么车、走哪条路线，均由孩子来筹划。父母要放手、信任，不要干预。即使孩子安排得不是最合适，也不要当即否定，而是等第二天再与他一起总结，先让孩子自己提出改进意见，然后父母再补充。
方法四：培养孩子的动手能力
家庭教育的目的不是让孩子过着舒适安逸的生活，而是要培养孩子各方面的能力。所以父母要转变观念，从小就开始培养孩子自立、自主的精神。孩子的生活起居，父母能放手的就不要包办。教育专家指出：孩子动手能力差，这主要与父母的养育方式和提供的环境刺激有关。
有的父母非常能干，做什么事情都大包大揽，凡事自己动手，甚至越俎代庖，剥夺了孩子锻炼自己动手能力的机会；有的父母过于低估孩子的能力，认为孩子太小，什么事都做不了，做不好，甚至担心孩子损坏东西，于是包办一切；有的父母过于注重孩子的知识文化素质教育，认为孩子只要学习好，动手能力差也没有关系，从而忽视了对孩子动手能力的培养。
这是一位大学新生由爷爷、奶奶、爸爸、妈妈一起送到学校的情景：走进学生公寓，新生的爷爷奶奶正在围着孩子嘘寒问暖，反复叮咛；新生的爸爸在帮孩子整理学习生活用品，妈妈在上床弓着腰替孩子铺床叠被。学校里提供了一套床上用品，这名大学生的父母从家中多带了5套床罩，他的母亲交代他，每个月换一套床罩，春节放假时一起带回家洗。整整一学期，大学生都没有洗过衣服，到了春节，不仅把床罩带回了家，他在学校里的脏衣服也大包小包拎回了家。
天生就有好奇心的孩子对于任何新事物都愿意尝试。让孩子参与家务劳动，是吸引孩子动手兴趣的一个妙招。父母要有意识地培养孩子的自理能力。孩子小的时候，可以让他学会自己整理自己的玩具，自己完成洗手、洗脸、倒水喝、脱衣睡觉等小事情；孩子大一点，可以让他自己打扫房间，洗一些小物品，如手绢等，帮助爸爸、妈妈拿一些较轻的物件；再大一点，可以让他负责照料自己喂养的鱼、给花浇水、洗碗、拖地、整理衣服等。孩子一般都有较强的自主意识，都很乐意做一些生活中的小事情，父母要及时给予孩子适当的鼓励。
孩子通过做自己力所能及的家务事，还可以体会到要想收获就必须付出的道理。有些孩子可能刚开始对家务事很感兴趣，时间一长，就有些厌烦。这时候，父母一定要坚持，要养成孩子自己做家务的好习惯，培养孩子的恒心，千万不能让孩子半途而废。
