Author Description

西西，原名张彦，广东中山人。1938年生于上海，1950年：定居香港，毕业于葛量洪教育学院，曾任教职，又专事文学刨作与研究，为香港《素叶文学》同人。著作极丰，出版有诗集、散文、长短篇小说等近三十种。1983年，短篇小说《像我这样的一个女子》获联合报第八届小说奖之联副短篇小说推荐奖。1992年，她的长篇小说《哀悼乳房》名列台湾《中国时报》开卷十大好书。1999年，长篇小说《我城》被《亚洲周刊》评入二十世纪中文小说一百强。2005年，继王安忆、陈映真之后获世界华文文学奖，获奖作品是长篇小说《飞毡》。2009年，《我的乔治亚》、《看房子》入围台北国际书展大奖。

Book Abstract

中世纪七百年间，摩尔人进驻西班牙，在格拉纳达山上建立军事要塞及宫室，因为泥土富铁质，呈红色，建筑群被称为“红堡”。红色，阿拉伯语译音“阿尔罕布拉”（Alhambra）。十六世纪时，西班牙夺回格拉纳达。穆罕默德十七世交出钥匙，签下降书，据说是不想宫殿因为奋力抗战而遭战火摧毁。国王黯然下山，留下摩尔人最后的叹息。
摩尔人的皇宫美轮美奂，既非清真寺，天主教的国王看看也喜欢吧，并不拆卸，但又不想长异教徒志气，灭自己威风，就在旧宫殿群的主入口水池庭院前建新王宫，挡挡杀气，换换风水，是为卡洛斯五世宫，应聘的设计师是米开朗基罗的弟子。意大利人的建筑当然有板有眼，气势宏伟，四方外形，内部是传统的圆形柱廊广场。比较起来，霸气十足，不似摩尔皇宫的优雅秀丽。旧官前的作坊、商铺、民居，当然都给拆掉了。清真寺的遗址耸立起玛利亚教堂。格拉纳达山，本来看似一艘远航的船舰，结果剩下搁浅的废船堡垒，兵房、监牢、阅兵台、操练场依稀有些墙根的影子。经过多年维修，算是回复昔年的美丽。船中心的摩尔宫殿，虽经地震，仍然安好无恙，让访客惊叹。城墙周边的塔楼还余八座，船尾的夏宫花园得以保留。侧耳细听，摩尔人的叹息袅袅不散。
如今进入阿尔罕布拉宫由西侧一组次要的小庭院和办事厅开始，稍为迂回，才来到主建筑群的水池宫。庭院中间是个长方形大水池，左右两岸栽植半人高的桃金娘树篱。池水平静如镜，南北楼房的倒影映在水中，一动不动。来自沙漠的人特别爱水。

回到最简单的问题：什么是建筑7建筑是由地板、天花和四面墙围起来，供我们作息的空间。建筑物和雕塑最大的不同是，后者是封闭的。我们不可能生活在雕塑里。金字塔是建筑，因为那是法老王的居所；但方尖碑不是建筑，因为我们不能走进方尖碑里。
那么，好看的建筑就是好建筑吗7难看的建筑就是坏建筑吗？好看与否，不是建筑好坏的评定标准，建筑要看空间，空间怎样调配才是裁定的标准。空间，是建筑的主角。
