Author Description

一、罗洛·梅的学术生平
罗洛·梅于1909年4月21日出生在俄亥俄州的艾达镇。此后不久，他随全家迁至密歇根州的麦里恩市。罗洛·梅幼时的家庭生活很不幸，父母都没有受过良好的教育，而且关系不和，经常争吵，两人后来分居，最终离婚。他的母亲经常离家出走，不照顾孩子，根据罗洛·梅的回忆，母亲是“到处咬人的疯狗”。他的父亲同样忽视子女的成长，甚至将女儿患心理疾病的原因归于受教育太多。由于父亲是基督教青年会的秘书，因而全家总是搬来搬去，罗洛·梅称自己总是“圈子中的新成员”。作为家中的长子，罗洛·梅很早就承担起家庭的重担。他幼年时最美好的记忆是离家不远的圣克莱尔河，他称这条河是自己“纯洁的、深切的、超凡的和美丽的朋友”。在这里，他夏天游泳，冬天滑冰，或是坐在岸边，看顺流而下运矿石的大船。
