2．依据学习结果的学习分类
美国佛罗里达州立大学的教育心理学家加涅（Gagne，1970）从学习结果的角度对学习进行分类。他认为：“学习分类的主要含义是对学到的东西的系统归类，即对作为各学习事件的结果被个体获得的各种能力的归类。分类的派生含义是指学习事件本身——学习类型的归类。”鉴此，他分出五类学习。
1）智慧技能学习
智慧技能（intellectual skill）学习是指学生习得“使利用符号成为可能的能力”。它包括辨别学习、概念学习、规则学习、高级规则（问题解决）学习4个由低级到高级的不同层次。
（1）辨别（discrimination）学习这是智慧技能学习的基础，是指学生学会对许多不同刺激作出不同识别的反应。如对物体形状、颜色、大小、轻重的识别，对文字或运算符号的识别等。
（2）概念（concept）学习这是学会对共同属性的事物的概括认识。概念学习又可分为具体概念（concrete concept）学习和定义概念（defined concept）学习。前者是指对具体事物的共同属性的概括认识；后者指对抽象事物的共同属性的认识。
（3）规则（principle）学习这是学会数个概念的联合。也即将数个概念联系在一起作为一个完整意义的认识。
（4）高级规则（问题解决problem solving）学习这是指学会“把规则组合成比较复杂的规则。”“这种比较复杂的规则或许可以被称为高级规则”（Gagne，1977），它是学习者在解决问题情境中产生的，因而这类学习也称为问题解决——学会运用规则解决问题，即学生从很不相同的内容领域内拿出两个或多个规则放在一起，以求形成一个高级规则来解决问题（Gagne，1977）。
