Book Abstract

我们多次讨论了那个“一个半弗洛林买i张戏票”的梦例，现在我可以明确地告诉你们，我对于这个梦里的选择是随意的，谈不上有什么特殊的目的。我们也探求出此梦例的隐藏意义是这样的：做梦人听说她的朋友订婚了，便后悔自己太早结了婚，然后就幻想自己若是耐心等待，或许也会嫁一个好老公。所以，她有点看不起白己的丈夫。我们也知道，那些隐念中进入梦境的欲望，实际上都是一种偷窥欲，即想在梦中获得看戏的自由或者对于婚娴生活的一种传统的好奇心的结果。儿童时期的好奇心或者偷窥欲常来源于父母的性生活，换而言之，这是一种幼年的冲动。如果成年人也有这种冲动，那么也是源自幼年时期。不过，那么女士在做梦的当日所听到的关于朋友订婚的消息，只会引起悔恨的情感，而不至于引起偷窥欲。一般来说，偷窥欲冲动的引起与梦中的隐念没有什么太大的关系，我们在做分析研究时，不用去关注偷窥欲也可以对梦作出有效的解释。不过，仅是悔恨这种情感是不足以引起梦境的，对于太早结婚这一抉择的追忆，也不足以引起梦境。当然，若是以前那种早结婚的思想能激发她对于体验婚姻生活的欲望，那么可能会形成梦境，而梦境的内容就是对这一欲望的满足，去剧院看戏代表了结婚，这种情境是对早先欲望的满足，那就是“我现在可以去剧院欣赏过去你们都禁止我看的戏剧了，不过我的朋友，你就没有这样的自由了，因为我已经结婚了，而你没有。”这一欲望。如此一来，现实的情境便恰恰相反，因为过去的虚荣早已被现在的悔恨所替代了。不过此梦的意义便在于做梦人的偷窥欲和虚荣心得到了满足。正是这种满足，决定了显梦的根本内容。在显梦中，做梦人与丈夫亲密地坐在剧院中央，而她的朋友则孤独地偏坐一隅，至于其他内容，则是为适应此情境而产生的不够合理的某种表现形式，然而此种表现形式并非凭空创造，而是由梦的意念所演变而来的。我们解梦的T作便是要绕过这些表示欲望满足的部分，而探求其背后隐藏的那些痛快的意念。
哕唆了半天，只是想让你们对梦的隐念予以足够的关注。首先，你们要记住，做梦人对于梦的隐念是毫不知晓的。其次，这些梦的隐念比较有条理性所以彼此之间很容易产生联系，我们可以将这种联系看作是对与侵扰梦的外界刺激的一种反应。最后，梦的隐念所具有的价值可以和任何感性的或者理性的活动相提并论。对于梦中的这些隐念，我认为换一个有限制性然而意义更明确的名称会更适合它，这个名称就是“昨日的遗念”（the residue from the previous day），做梦人有时会承认它的存在，有时也会否认，所以，我们有必要在对“遗念”和隐念做一个区分，一般来说，凡是通过解梦的工作发现的，都可以成为梦的隐念，这是我们前面对梦做研究时就有的一个认识。而“昨日的遗念”只能算是梦的隐念的一部分。如此一来，我们便能将梦中的经历一个概述了，除了“昨日的遗念”，实际上存在着另一种强烈的而被压制的潜意识欲望，而这个欲望便是引起梦境的最大原因。由于这种潜意识欲望对于“昨日的遗念”实行某种作用，所以显梦中那些即便清醒时也难以明白的内容便随之产生了。

在19世纪之前，心理学是属于哲学范畴的。在19世纪中期，自然科学的发展对早期心理学产生了极大的影响，这个时候心理学的研究也逐渐开始重视实验方法的使用。德国的费希纳在1860年开创了心理物理学，德国的艾宾浩斯开创记忆的实验研究。冯特于1879在莱比锡大学建立了世界上第一个心理学实验室，标志着科学心理学的诞生。这也是心理学实验方法的运用使这一学科成为科学的转折点。之后的100多年，随着心理学派的增加和发展，也使得这一学科的体系不断完善。
弗洛伊德在1900年出版的《梦的解析》一书标志着现代心理学的建立。他的另一部巨著《精神分析引论》则比较系统地深入浅出地介绍了精神分析的一般理论。精神分析是一种治疗神经病的方法，也是一种研究心理功能的技术，后来便成为了一种心理学的理论，也是现代心理学的一个重要学派。精神分析对人类学、医学、心理学甚至于史学、文学艺术和哲学都产生了不同程度的影响。
精神分析体系是以自我或超我与潜意识欲望的矛盾为基础的。他在文中提到的过失心理学以及神经病症的解释都是建立在这个基础之上的。
弗洛伊德在此书中提出了关于“性”的话题，人们误以为他是性生活的自由主义者。但事实上，他却不是这样的人。舒尔茨说：“值得我们注意的是，弗洛伊德虽然这样热烈地强调‘性’在我们情绪生活中的作用，但他个人对于‘性’却始终坚持一种极端否定的态度。他时常会提醒告知‘性’的危险，甚至对非神经病者来说也是这样，他告知人们必须努力克服一般动物的需要。他说，过于频繁的性行为是会使人堕落的，会污损精神和肉体的。他本人在41岁时，便已完全没有性行为了。”
