叶天士《温热论》
一、温病总纲
叶氏认为温病的发生是温邪从口鼻而入，首先侵犯肺经，表现为卫分、气分的病。它的传变方式，可以从肺卫内陷心包，出现神昏窍闭等证，成为营分、血分的病。这种传变方式称之为逆传。卫气通于肺，肺主一身之气；营气通于心，心主一身之血。这些生理功能活动，在温病的发展过程中，成为病理的反映，表现为病情浅深的不同、轻重的不同、预后的不同，层次分明，一目了然。温病根据卫气营血所属脏腑的病理变化去辨证，与伤寒学说运用六经辨证，其临床意义是完全一致的，但在具体的治疗方法上，温病与伤寒就不尽相同。
温病的发生发展过程，一般由卫分阶段进入气分阶段，再由营分阶段深入到血分阶段，总的治疗原则离不开“热者寒之”。邪在卫分，可以运用汗法；到了气分，方才可以运用清气分之热的方法；如果是刚入营分，还可以运用透营分之热以转出气分而解的方法，例如用犀角、玄参、羚羊角之类的药物；至于进入血分，就恐耗血动血，必须及时采取凉血和散血的方法。治疗上务必遵循这个先后的次序，否则就是缓急不分，动手便错，反而造成慌乱被动的局面。
