《护理伦理学》侧重在护理职业道德教育的基础上，适当地扩充了一些医学伦理和生命伦理学的内容，既适用于本科护理专业教学使用，也适合于其他层次护理专业教学使用，同时，还能作为医疗卫生单位开展医德教育的培训教材。《中华人民共和国护士条例》规定：“护士是指经执业注册取得护士执业证书，依照本条例规定从事护理活动，履行保护生命、减轻痛苦、增进健康职责的卫生技术人员。”护士执业，应当遵守法律、法规、规章和诊疗技术规范的规定。“护士应当尊重、关心、爱护患者，保护患者的隐私。”为此，护士的培养应从学校开始，加强对护理专业学生的职业道德教育培养。《护理伦理学》是护理专业核心课程之一。为了更好适应教学的要求。特编写此教材。
在《护理伦理学》的编写中，广泛吸收了近年来国内外医学伦理和护理伦理学教学和科研的成果，援引了以往一些教材、著作的某些论述。

第二节护理伦理学的具体原则与应用
护理伦理学的具体原则是基本原则的体现，主要有不伤害、有利、尊重、公正四个原则。
一、不伤害
（一）涵义
不伤害，就是医护人员在采取诊疗护理措施时，尽可能避免对患者造成生理、心理等方面的伤害，更不能人为地制造伤害。必须指出，“不伤害”不等于“无损伤”。在诊疗护理过程中，要做到完全对患者无损伤是很困难的。有些诊疗护理方法，虽对患者的康复有利，但同时又不可避免地带来一些损伤，如药物的毒性作用、不良反应，手术的创伤等。因此，在这里我们把“伤害”界定为“造成本可以避免的损伤”。一般地说，凡是医疗护理上必需的且属于医疗适应证范围的诊治护理手段，符合不伤害原则；反之，如果诊治护理手段对患者弊大于利或者禁忌的，却要勉强实施，则违背不伤害原则。
医疗伤害分为道德性伤害和技术性伤害两类。道德性伤害是由于医护人员缺乏医德而造成的。如不负责任，马虎、粗疏，态度冷漠，出言不逊，恶语伤人，行为不端，动作粗野等，都会不同程度地对患者造成心理、精神乃至人格的伤害。技术性伤害是指用药不当或操作不慎，对患者造成身体、心理的伤害，包括一切本可以避免，但由于医护人员违反操作规程或诊疗制度所致的责任事故和因技术问题而造成的技术过失事故。
