《寒热并用药对串解》计分“寒热并用药对串解”及“医论医话”两部分，是作者多年来学医心得及部分临证经验的总结。“串解”共列寒热并用药对52则，方剂230余酋，涉及内、外、妇、儿诸科，选方上自汉、唐，下及明、清、近代，为确具临床价值，或可资借鉴、研究者。采用综合、比较、演绎的方法，阐明寒热并用药对的精义，并列举其适应证，进而通过历代名方，分析药对在不同方剂组合中的意义，指出其应用要点。“医论医话”收集作者从1979年迄今的33篇论文，体现作者从医至今的心路历程，其中部分内容曾在国内期刊公开发表，涉及对中医经典著作、中药药性理论的研究，对张景岳、叶天士、黄坤载、蒋椿田、柳宝诒、章次公等名家经验的评述等。

Author Description

朱步先，1945年生，江苏泰兴人。始承家学，后拜朱良春、朱则如为师，学习中医，从医五十载。
1983年，任江苏省泰兴县（现泰兴市）中医院副院长。
1985年，奉调中国中医研究院（现中国中医科学院），先后任《中医杂志》编辑部副主任，《中医杂志》社副社长兼编辑部主任。曾任《中国大百科全书，传统医学卷》编委、该书“理论分支”副主编，《中国医学百科全书，中医学》编委，《现代中医内科学》副主编等。
主要著作有《（普济本事方）发微》（2011年人民卫生出版社出版）等。
1992年出国，在海外传播中医学，专注临床及学术研究，现居英国牛津。

Book Abstract

麻黄与桑白皮相伍治疗咳喘，以“喘满”为主要着眼点，咳喘甚可见面肿，多系痰水停蓄肺系所致。《外台秘要》载有“《必效》疗天行病后，因食酒面，肺中热拥”，遂咳逆不已之方，药用桑皮、桔梗、大枣、麻黄、葶苈子（姑名之为“加味葶苈大枣泻肺汤”），即由《金匮》葶苈大枣泻肺汤加桑白皮、麻黄、桔梗而成。《金匮》此方本用于治疗“肺痈喘不得卧”，用以泻肺平喘。鉴于葶苈泄肺之功胜，后人尝用此方治疗饮停胸膈，咳喘不得平卧之实证。《必效》此方，系流行性热病后余热未楚，又恣食酒面，生热酿痰，痰热壅肺，咳逆殊甚。葶苈与麻、桑、桔梗相伍，意在分消痰热壅迫之势，而收平喘镇咳之功。《苏沈良方》之“九宝汤”，治喘嗽起于外感，经年不愈，脉浮者。药用：麻黄（去节）、桂枝、紫苏、桑白皮（炒）、杏仁、陈皮、大腹皮、薄荷、炙甘草各5克，加生姜5片、乌梅肉1枚同煎。大抵痰浊逗留，肺之开阖失司，故喘嗽经年不愈。脉浮，示外邪未净。方用麻、桂、苏、荷疏表宣肺，桑白皮清肺肃降，大腹皮、陈皮疏逆气、化痰湿，方药平正可法。而立方之要旨，在于宣肃并用，从此方用生姜、乌梅为引，亦可默识其意。《太平惠民和剂局方》（简称《和剂局方》）之“华盖散”，更可见麻黄、桑白皮配伍之妙；此方治肺感风寒，咳嗽上气，痰气不利，呀呷有声，脉浮数者。

寒热并用之法，为证候之复杂多变而设。盖脏腑之虚实各殊，经气之盛衰有别，邪气之演变迥异，尝有宜温凉补泻兼施者。且药物之性，既有所长，必有所偏，欲扬长避短，补偏救弊，必须配伍得宜。寒热兼济，取相使相须、相反相成诸义，或用和解，或相监制，或激发药性，或寒因寒用、热因热用，千变万化，殊难穷尽。苟明阴阳变化之理，潜心体验，自可执其要领，融会贯通。
学问之道，贵在与时俱进。执古方以应今病，难免枘凿不入。须知病无常势，法当变通。能于法外求法，自可另辟新境。
本书多数章节，是作者客居英伦时写成的，也就顺便讨论了英国某些常见病、难治病的治疗，经验并不成熟，有待进一步提高。
本书引用文献尽可能采取第一手资料，尽管如此，疏漏在所难免。例如方剂，殊难一一查明原始出处；其余如立论之欠当，解析之偏颇等等，敬请读者教正，以便本书有机会再版时修订。
本书“医论医话”部分，某些篇章曾在国内期刊公开发表过。有的因篇幅等原因，发表时编辑曾作删节，今复其原貌，特此说明。
