袁昌齐（图中右四），江苏省中国科学院植物研究所研究员，中国自然资源学会天然药物专业委员会副主任，《中国野生植物资源》杂志副主编，享受国务院特殊津贴专家，中国知名药用植物资源和生药学专家。从事药用植物资源研究和开发利用50多年。

【功效特性】茉莉浸膏和净油都有杀菌、抗忧郁、温暖、止血等功效。茉莉净油的香气有温暖和镇静的效果，而玫瑰净油的香气则有温暖和振奋的效果。这两种油都有催情的作用。茉莉净油可作为抗抑郁药、止血剂、消炎药、防腐剂、抗痉挛药、化痰剂、助分娩剂、子宫疾病用药、促进伤口愈合药、除臭剂、调经剂、镇静剂、健胃剂、治肝药、泻药、滋补剂等。
【芳疗用途】在芳香疗法中茉莉堪称“精油之王”。它也确实是阳刚味非常重的精油。最好的茉莉净油，是在晚上采集茉莉花，然后将花朵摆放到一层脂类上，这种方法叫做吸香法。它首先被制作成固体的凝结物，然后脂肪被分离得到纯的净油。如果用化学合成的方法得到茉莉油，虽然味道与天然茉莉净油相似，但它混入基础油后，其香味就消失了，可能是基础油的氧化作用破坏了它成分。因此，在芳香疗法中最好使用吸香法提取的天然茉莉花精油。
茉莉净油的功效与玫瑰精油相似，具有洁净、调节和调顺子宫肌的功能，可以治疗经前紧张，痛经和经期子宫痉挛等问题。怀孕妇女临产阵痛时，用茉莉油按摩腹部和下背部，可帮助产妇减轻疼痛，并加强子宫收缩力；胎儿出生后，还能帮助排出胎盘和产后复原。茉莉油具有抗忧郁功能，可以缓解产后忧郁症。茉莉净油也是一种极好的皮质素平衡剂，有助于建立母子间的联系，促进乳汁分泌。

茉莉净油对呼吸系统也有重要的作用，它可以缓解支气管痉挛而使呼吸规律平稳。它有镇咳作用，可治疗咳嗽，对一般肺部感染和失声等症状都很有效。不过它的价格昂贵，通常不会用它来治疗像咳嗽这样的病症。
