日前大宁同志送来他的新作，我前后看了几遍，收效良多。
我不是学医的，但由于加入了以医药卫生界专家为主的中国农工民主党，尤其又担任了多年农工党中央的领导职务，不仅接触了不少中西医药界的高级专家，而且使我对医学，包括中医药学产生了浓厚的兴趣。
张大宁同志是我国知名的中医学大家、国医大师、中央文史馆馆员，中医功底深厚，临床经验丰富，尤其对肾病方面造诣颇深，被誉为中医肾病学的奠基人。由于他担任过三届农工党中央的副主席，所以我们接触较多，交往甚笃。多年来，大宁同志在中医药学的继承、发展方面做了大量的工作，提出了不少有益的建议，受到中央领导和广大药界的赞誉。
石斛是中医学重要的、用之很早的滋补药物之一，被道家经典著作《道藏》称为“九大仙草”之首，早在两干多年前的中医学四大经典之一的《神农本草经》中就有“补五脏虚劳、赢弱，强阴，久服厚肠胃，轻身延年”的记载。多年来，作为重要的滋补药被广泛地应用于防病、治病和延年益寿的方药之中，取得很好的效果。近几十年来，国内外学者对此做了大量的研究，有力地证实了这点。
这次以张大宁同志为主的一套包括医、药专家组成的科研班子，从石斛的品种、产地，到石斛的临床应用、有效成分等，做了系统的研究，并撰写了这本小册子，我想这既是前一阶段科研的成果，又是后一阶段科研的开始。愿你们取得更大的成果，以造福于广大民众。
