在本系列丛书的前面几本书中已经介绍了CATIA V5R17曲面造型的基础知识，相信熟读这部分内容之后，读者已经具备了一定的曲面建模能力。然而面对一个实际的外形，比如一张效果图，或者一系列IGS线框，初学者往往仍然会感到非常困惑，无从下手，有一种无法施展拳脚的感觉。甚至一些运用CATIA已经有段时间的工作人员，也会面临同样的困扰。在学习的过程中，往往这就是一个从基础到进阶的瓶颈，一旦突破这个瓶颈，便会觉得突然豁然开朗，以后出现的大部分问题都能迎刃而解。相信很多曲面造型的过来之人都会有这样的感受。
