《困学纪闻》是南宋著名学者王应麟的力作。王应麟，字伯厚，自号深宁居士，学者又称厚斋先生，其一生著述宏富，除《困学纪闻》外，还有《汉艺文志考证》、《汉制考》、《玉海》、《集解周书王会篇》、《词学指南》等二十余种著作，约六百多卷。《困学纪闻》一书博涉经史子集，展示了其精湛的考据学功力，确立了该书在我国古文献学史上的卓越地位，与《容斋随笔》、《梦溪笔谈》并称宋代考据笔记三大家。

Author Description

王应麟（1223-1296年），字伯厚，号深宁居士，进士出身，是南宋著名的学者、教育家、政治家。他祖籍河南开封，后迁居庆元府鄞县人（今浙江鄞县），历事南宋理宗、度宗、恭帝三朝，位至吏部尚书。王应麟博学多才，对经史子集、天文地理都有研究，是南宋末年的政治人物和经史学者。南宋灭亡以后，他隐居乡里，闭门谢客，著书立说。明代著名诗人、王应麟的同乡黄润玉在《先贤赞》中称颂王应麟：“春秋绝笔，瑞应在麟。宋诈讫录，瑞应在人，尼父泣麟，先生自泣。出匪其时，呼嗟何及。”父亲王撝是吕祖谦学生楼昉的学生，曾任温州知州，应麟从小受其培养教育，19岁就中进士，21岁在衢州任主薄，他在成为进士後受到程朱学派的王埜和真德秀等人影响，任官同时勤於读经史，34岁时因其文章的优异和学问的广博，考上博学宏词科（在宋代是很少人能考上的困难科目）後官最官礼部尚书，当时宋代外有蒙古入侵，内有权臣丁大全、贾似道等主政，他曾上书论边防和批判当时政治。宋亡後（1276年）他在家乡隐居讲述经史二十年。王应麟隐居二十载，所有著作，只写甲子不写年号，以示不向元朝称臣。他一生著作甚丰，有《困学纪闻》、《玉海》、《诗考》、《诗地理考》、《汉艺文志考证》、《玉堂类稿》、《深宁集》等六百多卷。但是知名度较高的反而是这部《三字经》，这可能是他做梦也想不到的事。王应麟晚年为教育本族子弟读书，编写了一本融会中国文化精粹的“三字歌诀”。他是通古博今的大儒，举重若轻的大家手笔写出这部“三字歌诀”，当然是非同凡响其著作学甚多且学术价值甚高，到清朝时才开始较为人所重视，其中《玉海》为百科全书式的著作，为其准备博学宏词考试时所整理的。《困学纪闻》是笔记类的著作，集合其大量经史研究的心得成果。《汉制考》为历史著作。《通鉴地理通释》是历史地理学的著作。著有家喻户晓的儿童启蒙读物《三字经》。

【四二阎案】韶美名仪凤，普州人，时官礼部员外郎．【五二呙（宗》（祖】年号。【何云=朱子语录》特耻其说发自苏氏耳。【阎按】苏氏之说非是。罗敦仁《尚书是正》正之日：「案礼，三年之丧，越绋而行事者有四，郊其一也。夫郊必衮冕大裘，则三年之丧，既成服，亦有时释之而即吉矣。受顾命，见诸侯，独不可以冕服乎？嗟乎，谓三年之丧既成服释之而即吉，无时而可，而势不行也。于是乎以日易月之制起，谓之灌制。不忍敦刻之赚，而安终身之南，不知其叮也。

Introduction

王应瞵，字伯厚，号深宁，学者尊为厚斋先生，庆元府鄞县（今浙江省宁波市）人。生于宋宁宗嘉定十六年（二三三年），卒于元成宗元贞二年（二一九六年），享年七十有四。厚斋先生为宋未元初大儒，以淳佑元年《二一四一年》进士，历仕南宋理宗、度宗、恭宗三朝，官至礼部尚书兼给事中。后见朝局败坏，颓势难回，愤然抗疏而出，辞官还乡。隐居不仕，杜门二十年，着述终老，志节耿然。一生着述弘富，凡三十余种，六百余卷。清乾隆问修《四库全书丫着录其论着达十四种之多，推为「博洽多闻，罕其伦比气所着《困学纪闻》二十卷，成于人元以后的艰苦困顿之中，网罗文献，博赡通贯，既集一生学养，亦寓家国忧思，为我国古代学术史上有口皆碑的名着。
