Content Description

Author Description

王实甫，生卒年不详，元戏曲作家，名德信。大都人。他早年曾经为官，仕途坎坷，常在演出杂剧及歌舞的场合出入，不为封建礼法束缚、与当时的演员有密切交往。晚年弃官归隐，过着吟风弄月、纵游园林的生活。钟嗣成《录鬼簿》将他列入“前辈已死名公才人”。所作杂剧今知有十四种，现存《西厢记》《破窑记》《丽春堂》三种；《芙蓉亭》《贩茶船》两剧各存一折取词。

Book Abstract

《西厢记》：
［越调］【斗鹌鹑】（红娘唱）止若是夜去明来，倒有个天长地久。真有是理！不争你握雨携云，常使我提心在口。真有是理！你止合带月披星，谁许你停眠整宿？真有是理！右第一节。虽为追怨莺莺之辞，然《西厢》。每写一事，必中其中裒会。何则？如世间男女之事，固所谓“夜去明来”之事也。夜去明来之事，则必须分外加意，带月披星。如果分外加意，带月披星，则虽至于天长地久，亦岂复劳“提心在口”也哉！独无奈世之痴男痴女，其心亦明知此为夜去明来之事，必当分外加意，带月披星，而往往至于其间，则不觉不知，自然都必至于停眠整宿焉。岂惟至于其间之停眠整宿而已，乃至不觉不知，自然偏向人面前握雨携云焉。呜呼！只此平平六句，而一切痴男痴女，狂淫颠倒，无不写尽。作《西厢记》人，定是第八童真住菩萨，又岂顾问哉！夫人他心数多，性情侑，还要巧语花言，将没作有。
【紫花儿序】猜他穷酸做了新婿，猜你小姐做了娇妻，猜我红娘做的牵头。“猜他”，“猜你”，“猜我”，妙，妙！右第二节。忽故作翻跌，言我三人即使并无其事，渠一人还要猜说或有其事，一节只作一句读也。
况你这春山低翠，秋水凝眸，都休。妙，妙！行文乃如洛水神妃，乘月凌波，欲行又住，欲住又行，何其如意自在！只把你裙带儿拴，钮门儿扣，比旧时肥瘦，出落得精神，别样的风流。芙蓉出水，未有如是清绝，如是艳绝，如是亭亭，如是袅袅矣！右第三节。“况你”，妙！“都休”，妙！“只把”，妙！与上节成翻跌，真乃异样姿致也。细思若不作此翻跌，便总无落笔处。才落笔，便是唐突莺莺。
我算将来，我到夫人那里，夫人必问道：兀那小贱人：【金蕉叶】我着你但去处行监坐守，谁教你迤逗他胡行乱走？这般问如何诉休？右第四节。先拟一遍，真是可儿。
我便只道：夫人在上，红娘自幼不敢欺心。
便与他个知情的犯由。
右第五节。此即下去一篇大文认定之题目也。稍复推诿，便成钝置。《西厢记》从前至后，誓不肯作一笔钝置也。
只是我图着什么来？妙，妙！真有此事，真有此情，真有此理！大则立朝，小则做家，至临命时，回首自思，真成一哭耳！【调笑令】他并头，效绸缪，倒凤颠鸾百事有。
我独在窗儿外，几曾敢轻咳嗽？妙，妙！轻咳嗽便不免也。立苍苔只把绣鞋儿冰透。【调笑今】第一句二子押韵。
右第六节。上既算定答对，此便忽然转笔作深深埋怨语，而凡前篇所有不及用之笔，不及画之画，不觉都补出来。前于《酬简》篇中，真是何暇写到红娘？然而《酬简》篇中之红娘，则岂可以不写哉？此特补之。
如今嫩皮肤去受粗棍儿抽，我这通殷勤的着甚来由？右第七节。岂独红娘，并唤醒天下万世一辈热血任事人。真乃痛哉，痛哉！咳，小姐，我过去呵，说得过，你休欢喜；说不过，你休烦恼。你只在这里打听波！（红娘见夫人科。夫人云）小贱人！怎么不跪下？你知罪么？（红云）红娘不知罪。（夫人云）你还自口强哩！若实说呵，饶你；若不实说呵，我只打死你个小贱人。谁着你和小姐半夜花园里去……（红云）不曾去！谁见来？（夫人云）欢郎见来，尚兀自推哩！（打科）只略推耳，不力推也。力推便成钝置，岂复是红娘人物，岂复是《西厢》笔法哉！可想。
（红云）夫人不要闪了贵手。且请息怒，听红娘说。
不惟夫人“且请息怒，听红娘说”，惟读者至此，亦且请掩卷，算红娘如何说。盖天下最可惜是迢迢良夜，轰饮先醉；一。见绝世佳人，疾促其解衣上床；二。夹取江瑶柱，满口大嚼；三。轻将古人妙文，成片诵过。四。此皆上犯天条，下遭鬼谬之事，必宜“有则改之，无则加勉”者也。
【鬼三台】夜坐时停了针绣，先停绣，犹未说话。妙，妙！看其逐句渐渐而出，恰如春山吐云相似。
分明一幅双仕女图。妙！和小姐闲穷究，说闲话犹未说张生，妙，妙！看其逐句渐渐而出。因此句忽然想得男儿十五六岁，与其同砚席人，南天北地，无事不说。彼女儿在深闺中，亦必无事不说也，特吾等不与闻耳。说哥哥病久，说张生，犹未候张生，妙，妙！看其渐渐而出。不称张生，却称“哥哥”，憨便憨杀人，乖又乖杀人。咱两个背着夫人，向书房问候。偏能下“背着夫人”四字，使夫人失惊。妙，妙！
