Book Abstract

【原文】
孙男国藩跪禀祖父大人万福金安：五月十八日孙在京发第八号家信，内有六弟文二篇，广东事抄报一纸，本年殿试朝考单一纸，寄四弟、六弟新旧信二封，绢写格言一幅，孙国荃寄呈文四篇、诗十首、字一纸，呈堂上禀三纸，寄四弟信一封，不审已收到否？
六月初五日接家信一封，系四弟四月初十日在省城发，得悉一切，不胜欣慰。
孙国藩日内身体平安。国荃于三日微受暑热，服药一帖，次日即愈；初三日复患腹泻，服药二帖即愈。曾孙甲三于廿三日腹泻不止，比请郑小珊诊治，次日添请吴竹如，皆云系脾虚而兼受暑气，三日内服药六贴，亦无大效。廿六日添请本京王医，专服凉药，渐次平复，初一二两日未吃药，刻下病已全好，惟脾元尚亏，体尚未复。孙等自知细心调理，观其行走如常，饮食如常，不吃药即可复体，堂上不必挂念。冢孙妇身体亦好，婢仆如旧。
同乡梅霖生病，于五月中旬日日加重，十八日上床，廿五日子时仙逝。胡云阁先生亦同日同时同刻仙逝。梅霖生身后一切事宜，系陈岱云、黎月乔与孙三人料理。戊戌同年赙仪共五百两，吴甄甫夫子（戊戌总裁）进京赙赠百两，将来一概共可张罗千余金。计京中用费及灵柩回南途费不过用四百金，其余尚可周恤遗孤。
自五月下旬以至六月初，诸事殷繁，荃孙亦未得读书。六月前寄文来京，尚有三篇孙未暇改。
广东事已成功，由军功升官及戴花翎、蓝翎者共二百余人。将上谕抄回前半节，其后半载升官人名，未及全抄。
昨接家信，始知楚善八叔竹山湾田已于去冬归祖父大人承买。八叔之家稍安，而我家更窘迫，不知祖父如何调停？去冬今年如何说法？望于家信内详示。
孙等在京别无生计，大约冬初即须借账，不能备仰事之资寄回，不胜愧悚①。吴春冈分发浙江，告假由江南回家，七月初起程。余容续禀，即禀祖父母大人万福金安。孙跪禀。（道光二十一年六月初七）

我近来身体安康。国荃在三日稍微受了点暑热，吃了一服药，第二天就好了。初三又患腹泻，吃了两服药，才好。曾孙甲三在二十三日腹泻不止，立刻请郑小珊诊治，第二天又请吴竹如，都说是脾虚并且受了暑热，三天中吃了六服药，也没有多大效果。二十六日又请京城王医，专吃凉药，逐渐好些，初一、二两天没有吃药，现在病已好了，只是脾元还亏，体重还没有复元。孙等自己知道细心调理，看他行走如常，饮食如常，不吃药即可以康复，堂上大人不必挂念，长孙媳妇身体也好，婢女仆人仍旧。
同乡梅霖生于五月中旬得病，天天加重，十八日上床，二十五日子时逝世。胡云阁先生也同日同时同刻仙逝。梅霖生死后一切事情，是陈岱云、黎樾乔与孙儿三人料理的，戊戌的同年们，出了奠金五百两，吴甄甫夫子进京馈赠百两，将来总计共可等到千余两。计划在京中的费用及灵柩回湖南的路费不过四百两，其余的还可以抚恤遗孤。
自五月下旬到六月初，事务特别繁忙，国荃也没有读书。六弟过去寄到京的文章，我还有六篇不得闲空没有改。
广东的事已经成功，因军功升官及戴花翎蓝翎的，共两百多人。现将皇上的手谕抄回前半节，后半升官的人名，没有来得及全抄。
