《历代书籍装帧艺术》一书以20世纪考古发现新材料为佐例，将中国古代三千多年来非书籍形式及先秦以后的简帛、卷轴、册页形式书籍进行梳理，以通俗明了的语言，配以大量的彩图，为读者讲述一个清晰、直观的书籍装帧艺术史。

李明君
1967年参加工作，1972年起主持兰州八一印刷总厂设计室工作。
1989年获工艺美术师中级职称。
1989-1990年进修于中央工艺美术学院书籍艺术系。
1991-1992年在深圳蛇口启旋电脑公司任字体设计指导老师。
1999-2009年在兰州商学院、兰州交通大学等院校从事教学工作，讲授《书籍装帧》、《字体设计》、《基础版面》、《印刷工艺与流程》等课程。
1999-20009年，在多年书籍装帧教学实践的基础上撰成本书。
