Author Description

洪汛涛（1928.4.9—2001.9.22），中国著名儿童文学作家、理论家，“神笔马良”之父，是与叶圣陶等齐名的中国“童话十家”。毕生致力于儿童文学的创作与研究，为儿童文学事业的繁荣与发展作出了杰出贡献。其代表作童话《神笔马良》是享誉世界的经典文学名著，被编入教材，影响了几代人，是中国儿童文学难能可贵的瑰宝。该作品被译成多国文字，在世界有着深远影响。《神笔马良》故事版本众多，本书选取的是作者生前最后审定的版本，以及其他几篇幼儿童话精品。

从前，有个孩子叫马良。他父亲母亲去世了，靠乡亲们帮助，以打柴、割草为生。
他喜欢画画，可是连一支笔也没有。
村子里，全是穷人，没有一家有笔的，过的全是苦日子。
一天，他经过一个学馆门口，看见学馆里的画师拿着笔，正在画画。他停住脚，眼睁睁地看着，看着，就是离不开。直到天黑，才想着该回家了。
他常常走老远老远去学馆门口看画师画画，一站就是大半天。他一边看，一边在心里默默琢磨。他多么想自己拿起笔来，也这样一笔一笔顺着自己的意思画。
这天，不知怎么，他不自觉地跨过那高高的门槛，走了进去，向画师请求说：“我很想学画画，借给我一支笔可以吗？”
那画师斜着脸，从头到脚打量了他一眼，鼻子里“嗤”了一声，冷冷地说：“穷孩子想拿笔，要学画画，做梦去吧！”
说着，就将他赶出门来，“嘭”的一声把门关上了。
马良是个有志气的孩子，他说：“为什么穷孩子不能拿笔，连画也不能学呢？我就是要学画画！”
他下决心学画，每天用心苦练。
他到山上打柴时，捡一根枯树枝，在沙地上学着描飞鸟。
他到河边割草时，用草根蘸河水，在岸石上学着描游鱼。
晚上回到家里，拿一块木炭，在窑洞的壁上，又把白天描过的东西一件一件再画一遍。
他没有笔，还是坚持学画画。
花落花开，暑往冬来，一年一年过去，马良学画从不间断。他住的窑洞的两壁，画上叠画，密密麻麻，全是画了。
他长进很快，真是画的鸟就差不会叫了，画的鱼就差不会游了。
一回，他在村口画了只小黄兔，村口的上空就成天有老鹰打转。
一回，他在山后画了只大黑熊，吓得牛群再也不敢到山后吃草。
但是，马良还没有一支笔呀！
村里的伙伴们都替他发愁了。有个伙伴到森林里向一百种鸟求它们的羽，想给马良做一支笔；有个伙伴到深山里向一百种兽求它们的毛，想给马良做一支笔……
马良知道了，阻拦他们说：“鸟的羽是用来飞行的，兽的毛是用来御寒的，不能用它们的羽、毛来做笔。”
羊和狼本来是冤家对头，听说马良学画画还没有一支笔，一起来找马良了，它们说：“我们的毛最适合做笔。羊的毛做的羊毫笔，狼的毛做的狼毫笔，才是最好的笔。你就用我们的毛做笔吧！”
马良见羊和狼和好了，很高兴，怎么也不忍心采它们的毛，说：“你们早该这样了，谁也不欺侮谁有多好！采毛是很痛的，我怎么能采你们的毛呢？”
马良一一谢绝了。
一次，学馆里的画师拿了一束笔，在学馆前面的河埠头里漂洗。一支笔掉到水底，水很深，他捞不着，只得随它去了。
一条鱼正好游过，看见这支笔，赶紧衔起它，甩动尾巴，转过身，给马良送去。
马良在河下游的河滩上拿草根画画，他不知道鱼送来的这支笔是谁的，说：“这笔是别人掉落的，掉笔的人一定很着急，正在找这支笔，我不能收这支笔。”
鱼只得将笔衔回原来的地方。
一天，马良去深山打柴，见到一棵高高的千年古松，就爬上树去，摘了一把细嫩的松针，想用松针做一支笔。不想等他找着做笔杆的竹管时，摘下的松针给高山上的大山羊捡走了。
马良有点儿不太高兴。热心的大蝙蝠陪他去高山岩洞里找大山羊评理。
原来，大山羊的兄弟给猎人打伤了腿，要拿松针当药，而山羊上不了树。马良一听，气消了，赶紧又到古松树上帮它摘来一抱松针。
来来去去，不觉天已大黑，离家遥远，马良迷失方向，很是着急。大蝙蝠在前面引道，大山羊驮起他，送他回家。马良没有做成笔，还是很快活。
没有笔，马良仍旧用树枝、草根、木炭画画，从没有一天懈怠。但树枝、草根、木炭毕竟不是笔，马良多么想有一支笔呀！

这天晚上，马良躺在自己的窑洞里，因为他整日干活、学画，已经非常疲倦，但他还没有一支笔，也很焦急，翻过身来，翻过身去，就是睡不着，嘴上念叨道：“什么时候才会有一支笔呢……”
暗黑的窑洞里突然亮起一道五彩的光芒，来了个拄着龙头拐杖的白胡须老人，正紧接他的话，说道：“你现在就有一支笔了。”
怎么？白胡须老人的话还没有说完，那龙头拐杖已经托在马良的手上。马良看着它一点点缩小，成了一支笔。
白胡须老人谆谆嘱咐他说：“这是一支神笔，要好好用它。”
马良手上托着的笔，金光灿灿的，像一条小龙，他诧异得直叫：“谢谢啦，老爷爷——”
马良的话还没有说下去，五彩的光芒消失了，白胡须老人不见了。可是，沉甸甸的笔，仍托在马良手上。
他十分高兴，就奔出窑洞，挨家挨户去敲门，把伙伴们都叫醒，告诉他们：“我有笔啦！我们有笔啦！——”
