Book Abstract

首先让我们设想一个市场，在这个市场中买卖的，也就是说进行交换的，只是消费品和消费服务，任何服务的售出，是通过资本品的出租来完成的。所有这些商品和服务的价格或交换比率，在以所选出的其中之一作为通货的依据下，一经随机喊出，各个交换参与者就会按照这类价格，提供他认为已有存量比较过多的那些商品或服务，需要就某一期间的消费说，他感到过少的那些商品或服务。各种事物的有效需求和有效供给的数量既然是这样确定的，那些求过于供的事物的价格就会上升，那些供过于求的事物的价格就会下降。新的价格既经喊出，各个交换参与者就会提供和需要新的数量。这时价格就又会上升或下降，直到各种商品和各种服务的需求和供给趋于均等。这时的价格就是现时平衡价格，将有效地发生交换。
我们提出生产问题时的方式是，扩大交换问题的范围，使它包括这一事实：消费品不是单单出于生产服务的结合的产品就是将这些服务应用到原料后的产品。为了要考虑到这一事实，就得把地主、工人和资本家看成生产服务的卖者和消费品及消费服务的买者，跟他们相对的是产品的卖者和生产服务及原料的买者。后一类的卖者和买者是企业家，他们所追求的是将生产服务转变成产品后的利润；构成这些产品的，或者是他们之间互相出售的原料，或者是他们卖给地主、工人和资本家一一生产服务就是从这些人购人的一一的消费品。这时如果假定有两个市场而不是一个市场，对于所考虑的现象就可以使我们了解得更加清楚。假定一个是服务市场，服务的提供者完全是地主、工人和资本家；服务如果是供直接消费的，则其需求者仍然为地主、工人和资本家，服务如果是生产性的，则其需求者为企业家。假定还有一个是产品市场，产品的提供者完全是企业家；产品如果是原料，则其需求者仍然为企业家，产品如果是消费品，则其需求者为地主、工人和资本家。在这两个市场内随机喊出的价格下，站在消费者立场上的地主、工人和资本家将提供服务，要求消费品和消费服务，目的在于取得在所考虑的时期内效用的尽可能大的总和。另一方面，站在生产者立场上的企业家将提供产品，要求在同样时期内交付的生产服务或原料，其要求以属于生产服务形式的生产的系数所需要的为限。无论什么时候，只要产品的售价高于在其生产中所需要的生产服务的成本，这些企业家就会扩大产量；只要这类生产服务的成本高于售价，他们就会缩减产量。在不论哪个市场上，只要需求超过供给，价格就会上升，只要供给超过需求，价格就会下降。所谓现时平衡价格是这样的：在这类价格下，各种服务或产品的供求相等，各种产品的售价相等于生产成本，即相等于所使用的生产服务的成本。
要说明资本形成问题就得假定，有些地主、工人和资本家是进行储蓄的，就是说，他们所需要的消费品和消费服务的值并不等于他们所提供的服务的总值，而是将总值的一部分用于对新资本品的需求。我们还得假定，与产生储蓄的那些人相对的是一些企业家，这些企业家所生产的不是原料或消费品，而是新资本品。因此，假定一方面有某一数额的储蓄，另方面有某一数量的新制出的资本品，这些储蓄和这些新资本品是在资本品市场进行交换的，则在适合竞争结构的情况下，交换比率将取决于资本品所产生的消费服务和生产服务的价格，而这些价格却是在交换理论和生产理论的依据下确定的。因此我们会有某一收入率，对各种资本品说来会有某一售价，这一售价相等于其服务的价格对收入率之比。新资本品的制造者跟那些消费品制造者一样，随着售价高于生产成本还是生产成本高于售价，会扩大或缩小他们的产量
