第五章开始的时候不要把目标定太高
关于“创新创业”这个话题，我真的有很多话要说。其中很关键的一句就是：一定不要想着一口吃成个大胖子，慢慢来最重要。
对于年轻人来说，无论是“BAT”，还是“ATM”，马化腾、马云、李彦宏、雷军这些创业者们都是高大的偶像。
然而，在自己创业起步阶段，一定要脚踏实地，不能盲目向这些偶像看齐。把目标定得太高，往往要接受希望破灭的痛苦。最好的办法还是把目标定得切合实际一些，路要一步一步走，饭要一口一口吃。
马化腾接受记者采访的时候曾经说过一段很有意思的话：“不能指望说要做10亿或多少亿，如果我们当初这样想早就死了。这会左右你每一步动作，接下来你会发现很多细小的事情都不做了，看到服务器有问题也不紧张，老想着10亿100亿怎么搞，那就完了。事情都是一点点细致做出来的。一定把目标放到最低，过完这关再说。大多数人都跟你一样面临各种小坎，只要埋头过完自己的坎，剩下的自然会有人分心落后，到时候你就跑到别人前面去了。不用怕别人多厉害，做好自己、和自己比就行了。”
其实不仅仅是他，很多商业上的巅峰人士在回顾自己创业历程的时候，都对自己开始时实现小目标的过程记忆深刻。那些当时看似无心之作恰恰奠定了后来商业王国的基石。
中国古人说得好：“九层高台起于累土，合抱之木发于毫末。”无论我们的梦想是多么恢宏远大，但是在创业之初，一定要在小处和细微之处下功夫。
很多创业者认为大量投钱到市场，肯定能“砸”出市场。突破市场肯定少不了钱，但是大量投钱并不是唯一和最好的解决方法。
往往有这类企业，快速启动市场时，并不根据自己发展阶段，花大价钱请明星代言、请广告公司包装、招聘一支队伍等等，前期浩浩荡荡、气势如虹，但到了中期时，大量问题不断井喷，最后所有努力前功尽弃，市场突破成为一场壮观的闹剧，并且这种闹剧还在不断上演。
“小本创业”对大多数人来说都是一条理想之路。但在迈出第一步之前一定要做好充分准备，不然就会轻易陷入意想不到的困境。特别是对于还在起步阶段的自主创业者来说，要避免贪大求全，把摊子铺得太大，这样如果出现了事先没有预料到的情况，就可能带来致命性的失败。一些初创业者，尤其是刚刚踏上社会的大学生，往往对个人的期望值都是很高的，认为要创业一定要创大业，搞得轰轰烈烈才带劲、才酷。其实，这一思想是创业者容易失败的最大隐患。
初创业者一定要明白，做任何事情都要稳扎稳打，任何一项伟大的事业都是从小企业开始的。要甘心忍受创业前期默默无闻的状态，不要期望一举成名、一飞冲天，认认真真地将每件事情做好。我们知道微软公司现在是世界上最大的公司之一，其市值一度达到了5000亿美元，超过了庞大的企业帝国通用电气，成为全球市值最大的公司。但在20年前微软还只是一个小小的企业，比尔·盖茨还只是一名从哈佛大学退学的大三学生。但是比尔·盖茨没有因为自己的公司小而放弃，相反，他以无比的热情投入到公司中去，广泛搜集招揽有用的人才，经过了重重曲折、失败之后，微软逐步从一个小不点长成了企业界的巨人。而这一切都是在20年的时间里完成的。初创业者一定要有足够的耐心，不要一创业就想着要快速做大。
理想能给你带来工作的动力和乐趣，使生活充实和更有意义。每个阶段给自己设定的目标必须切合实际，经过努力可以达到，不要好高骛远。
