很多孩子都有过这样的体验：当自己向对方抛出一个问题或传递某种信息时，一定希望对方就这个话题能给自己一点儿反馈或能够把这个话题谈得更透彻，但对方似乎达不到自己的这种期望。他们要么是就这个问题肤浅地聊一聊，转而移到其他的问题；要么是根本就不理睬自己的问题，直接去说其他的话题；或者像一个木头人一样，根本就没有什么反应。这让孩子非常扫兴和沮丧，他们不禁怀疑：是对方对这个话题所知甚少？还是对这个话题不感兴趣？或是口才不好表达不出来？抑或是根本就没兴趣和自己交谈？如果是后者，那孩子不仅要怀疑对方的知识水平能力和口才能力，更要怀疑对方和你谈话的诚意。
然而，孩子却不知道，真正的、主要的原因都不是以上这些，而可能是对方压根儿就没听懂孩子在说什么，根本就不知道孩子所期望得到什么样的反馈。更糟糕的是，他们还自以为他们听懂了，所以他们会滔滔不绝地表达着他们对“这个问题的看法”，却不知道他们早已离题千里；他们自以为自己很能说、口才很好，却不知道孩子早已忍无可忍，想起身离去。
有的人并不缺乏交流的诚意，但却达不到与人交流的效果。其原因并不完全是因为掌握的谈话技巧不够，而是因为不懂得倾听。所以，也就不懂得如何表达。
这些不懂得倾听的人让谈话的另一方很为他们发愁，很想敲敲他们的脑袋问问他们：“你听懂我说的话了吗？没听懂干脆就不要说。”所以，孩子有必要学会倾听，摆脱既不会听又不会说的尴尬。
1.耐心地听才能听得懂
为什么有些孩子听不懂别人的话？很明显的一个原因是没耐心。别人说的时候，他们东瞧瞧、西看看，摸摸这儿、摸摸那儿，别人说别人的，他们干他们的。听都没有认真听，怎么可能听懂别人的话？等别人说完了，他们才回过神儿来：哦，他说完了，该我说了。表面上是两个人在谈话，实际上是各说各话、毫无交集，根本起不到沟通交流的作用。
还有一些孩子更没耐心，他们连等你说完的耐心都没有，就直接打断你的话：“哎，我那天……”把别人说变成他说。不让别人说完，怎么可能听懂别人说话？
2.用心地听才能听得懂
有些孩子在听别人说话时倒是挺有耐心的，老老实实地坐着，也没乱动；认认真真听着，也没打断，可惜他们只是表面上认真在听，其实是人在心不在。别人说别人的，他们想他们自己的，走神儿了。等别人说完了，他们也回过神儿来了：“嗯？你刚刚说什么？”这样的孩子，也不可能听懂别人说话。
3.提高理解能力和悟性才可能听得懂
以上的两个原因还只是表面的原因。有一部分没耐心听、不用心听的孩子并不是因为不想听，而是因为他们真的不理解对方的意思，所以才走神儿的。所以，要想从根本上改变不懂得倾听这个缺点，必须提高自己的理解能力、悟性和知识面。别人说什么，自己都能消化理解；别人说什么，自己都能接上话；别人说什么，自己都能把话题延伸、深入。
要想有这样的境界，不是一天两天的训练就可以达到的，必须多读书、多思考、多经历、多观察社会，提高自己的知识和见识，这需要孩子在生活中一点一滴地积累能量。这和想拥有一副好口才一样，是个任重而道远的过程，必须从多方面去努力。
