Author Description

李少白，生于重庆，被誉为“光影大师”，曾任《大众摄影》《中国摄影》《摄影与影像》等杂志编委，现为中央民族大学现代图像艺术学院摄影系客座教授。多年来专攻长城、故宫、颐和园等中国古建筑摄影。1992年在北京举办“神秘的紫禁城”摄影展，引起轰动；其镜头下的长城和故宫摄影作品多次在美国、德国、日本、瑞士、爱沙尼亚等国家展出。魏慧玲，北京人，从事新闻出版工作20余年，曾就职于人民邮电出版社，任《中国集邮》杂志、《信息与家庭育儿》杂志、《新风范》杂志资深编辑。

前言

走进故宫，当太和门广场出现在我们眼前时，相信所有人都会震撼。为它的开阔震撼、为它的壮丽震撼、为它的精致震撼、为它的厚重震撼。北京街头那些摩天大楼代表不了皇都，它们只是北京的符号。真正能够代表北京的，只有故宫——昔日的紫禁城。故宫是北京独一无二的面孔。

从1420年明朝第三代永乐皇帝朱棣迁都于此，到清朝末代皇帝溥仪被迫宣告退位，先后共有24位皇帝在宫城里统治中国长达五个世纪，其中包括明代的14位皇帝和清代的10位皇帝。

故宫，这座伟大的宫院规模宏大、气势磅礴，甚至在世界范围内也是规模大、保存完整的古代皇家宫殿建筑群，是中国从古至今建筑艺术的经典之作。1987年故宫被联合国教科文组织评定为世界文化遗产。世界遗产委员会对其评价说：“紫禁城是中国五个多世纪以来的高权力中心，它以园林景观和容纳了家具及工艺品的9000多个房间的庞大建筑群，成为明清时代中国文明无价的历史见证。”

故宫占地72万多平方米，原有宫殿楼阁9900多间，现存建筑980余座8700余间，建筑面积约16万平方米。如此庞大的建筑群，不但丝毫没有杂乱感，反而结构严谨，布局规整。这是因为，整个建筑规划了一条中轴线，这条中轴线和整个北京城有机地结为一体。宫内重要建筑都在这条中轴线上，其他建筑分东西对称分布。

中轴线上的主要建筑有太和门、太和殿、中和殿、保和殿、乾清宫、交泰殿、坤宁宫和御花园。东西两侧有文华、武英两组宫殿，还有东六宫和西六宫等左右对称。三大殿前后排列在三层“工”字型汉白玉石殿基上，每层都有汉白玉石刻栏板围绕。三台中有三层石雕“御路”。

宫内大高的一座建筑物是太和殿，也称金銮殿。它不仅是故宫内高大的建筑，也是国内高大、壮丽的古代木结构建筑。太和殿始建于公元1406年，经历过三次火灾和一次起义军的毁坏，现在的建筑是清朝时期建造的。

在景山的万春亭俯瞰故宫，阳光下那一片金灿灿的屋顶，真是壮观至极，且美不胜收。

2015年10月10日，故宫博物院成立90周年院庆，发出了一个令人兴奋的好消息，对公众开放四个新的区域，包括：慈宁宫区域、宝蕴楼、午门-雁翅楼区域和东华门。由此故宫的开放面积由52％增至65％。

占故宫总面积近三分之一未开放的区域，是世人眼中的禁地。本书力求带给读者崭新的视觉体验，不仅是那些颇具视觉冲击力的图片，也包括一些故宫未开放区域的图片。
