Book Abstract

擦擦其音来自梵语，俗称小泥佛，真实含义是小型的佛像。擦擦一般都是用凹型的模具制作而成，大的可以尺计，小的只有方寸大小，所采用的题材以佛、菩萨、金刚护法、高僧像和佛塔等为主。制作擦擦的原料主要以泥土为主，虽然原料相同，但擦擦也能分出不同的等级，一般以泥巴为主的擦擦在民间比较流行多见，有些压模时会在泥佛的背面掺入青稞或是其他圣物，以此表示祈祷。有些比较珍贵的擦擦会在原料泥巴中掺入金、银、松石、珊瑚、宝石粉等贵重的东西，制作这些擦擦的人在过去大都是上层社会人士与贵族。制作擦擦的脱模器具一般以铜、铁为主，也有些地方用木质模具，每个地方的风格都不一样。在制作方法上还有陶塑和泥塑之分，陶塑的擦擦是在泥塑的基础上烧制而成，有的还会加以彩绘。由于制作的原材料泥土几乎随处可见，模具的大小又易于携带，所以制作擦擦并不需要复杂和特殊的技术，擦擦就经常跟随游方的僧人、朝圣的香客的足迹流传于他们足迹所到之处。在民间有些专门在佛教圣地制作擦擦的人，他们多是以此为生，朝圣的人们常常会出资购买他们制作的擦擦，或是向他们施舍些财物。由于地域和用途的不同，每个地方的擦擦都具有自己的特点，其中尤为著名的是产自阿里地区的擦擦，而这个地区的擦擦又以古格一地的最具代表性。与古格壁画相同的是，古格擦擦的艺术形态受到来自早期印度佛教艺术的影响很深。佛、菩萨的造型呈现出纤细优美的身姿线条，圆润而高耸的乳房等都是这方面典型的具有热带地区的艺术特征，造像的衣服边围等细节也刻画得极为生动飘逸。因为这一地区主要分布是灰白与灰绿色的黏土，这种土质含沙量较高，所以擦擦制作出来后很容易磨损，不易保存，极为珍贵。而用这种土制作出来的擦擦也与土的颜色一样，呈现出灰绿、灰白色，在长时间的风化后呈现出较为阴冷的色调。
