Book Abstract

退一步讲，对我而言，这不是一次令人满意的治疗经历。治疗师感到自己的工作毫无成效、眼看着一切努力尽被误解，他没法忍住不受影响。我保持兴趣、继续治疗下去的方法是，提醒自己：这案子是个机会，可以通过一个精神受扰动相对较少的来访者，较为完整地研究其行为所显现出的病理状态；只不过这案子或许不会那么完整，疗效也较不显著而已。同时我相信，尽管这个来访者缺乏必要的洞察，但由于我在治疗情境里对她所施加的，良性的、类似父母的影响，也正使她明显地减少了冲动行为和自我伤害。
由于Tira Elbogen仍在不停抱怨跟我面谈又麻烦又没意义，再加上我觉得除了密切关注之外，我也无法对她做再多的工作，所以我同意在六个月密集治疗的尝试之后，将治疗面谈频率降低，由原先一周三次改为每周一次。
后来，Tira Elbogen偶然在律师事务所结识了一位事务所的资深合伙人，（那家著名的律师事务所代理了她之前那起交通事故。）那是个终身未娶的单身汉，年纪相当大；由于年轻时曾受过穷，现在他攒下了一大笔财富；一直以来他都沉迷在工作中，就快退休了。现在，他爱上Tira Elbogen后，就展开了苦苦的追求，实际上，他拿出了迄今为止只在其工作时才见得到的热情和专注，全身心地追求着Tira Elbogen，除她之外别无所求。在Tira Elbogen的熟人眼里，有一个帅气的、有影响力的年长男人在深深地爱着她；她觉得自己的价值得到了证明，便响应了对方的爱。这个男人提出要见我，Tira Elbogen不理解他为什么这么做，但也同意了，于是这个男人和我碰了面。（也就是在这次会面中，我从他那里了解到他的一些情况。）他来见我是要告诉我，他决不会干涉我跟Tira Elbogen的治疗工作；恰恰相反，他愿意尽一切努力确保她能得到妥善的治疗。他表现得就好像我是Tira Elbogen的父亲，而他是来请求我把女儿嫁给他一样；他再三向我保证，他深爱着她，虽然他知道Tira Elbogen现在可能还无法完全回应自己的爱，但他希望在自己的呵护和爱之中，她最终可以丢掉对男人的失望，逐渐爱上自己。
