「場景」，本來是一個影視用語，指在特定時間、空間內發生的行動，或者因人物關係建構而成的具體畫面，是透過人物行動來表現劇情的一個個特定過程。從電影角度講，正是不同的場景組成了一個完整的故事。不同場景，意義大不相同。

當這個詞被應用在互聯網領域時，場景常常是與遊戲、社交、購物等互聯網行為相關的，透過支付完成階段目標的應用形態。我們通常稱之為應用場景。其中，能夠觸發用戶沉浸式體驗或者能夠使用戶長時間停留的應用形態，如視頻、遊戲、微信，可以被理解為超級入口；能夠應用微信支付／支付寶完成交易的購物、用車、本地團購等場景可以被理解為支付場景。

隨著行動設備和智慧終端機的出現，互聯網和人們的日常生活結合得越來越緊密。行動互聯網和共享經濟正在改造我們生活的所有時空。隨之而產生的新的生活方式越來越表現出社會網路的新處境和新特點。譬如我們在微信環境中的生存狀態。
