7 Japanese White Chocolate Treats to Try ASAP

Japan may be better known for its many-flavored Kit Kats, but they also have a wide variety of incredibly tasty white chocolate treats. White chocolate is a popular flavor in Japan, and these seven different products I found did not disappoint. They range from white chocolate sandwich cookies to a delicious yuzu cake. And that's only the beginning!

I'm sure there are many more white chocolate treats out there than those I will list below. But, instead of going on an epic journey across Japan to find these hidden sweets, I've done all the work for you. Here is a list of my favorite finds. (And yes, I ate a lot of white chocolate to make this list!)

White Chocolate Hazelnut Waffle & Cookies

I'm a sucker for white chocolate, and these wafer straws are awesome. Asian countries have products that the western world just doesn't have. These Crown White Heim Cookies are light and crispy wafer straws filled with sweet white chocolate hazelnut cream. Both the white chocolate and hazelnut flavors really come through in these snacks. They’re delicious without being too sweet. Pair that with the satisfying crunch of the cookie, and these Japanese treats are sure to satisfy while adding a sophisticated element to snack time.

I love Japanese packaging, and these cookies are a prime example. It is so neat, straight, and organized. The white chocolate sandwich cookies are individually wrapped and stacked neatly inside a sturdy box (that honestly, I will probably find a reason to repurpose). The first thing you’ll notice when you open the packaging is how good this treat smells! The cookie itself is a soft shortbread with a subtle vanilla-almond flavor. The filling is smooth with a slight tang and a sweetness that’s not overpowering. It’s less sweet than many American cookies, which makes it perfect for enjoying any time.
