SAPSAP既是软件公司的名字，也是其旗舰产品的名字。SAP公司于1972年成立于德国，如今已经成长为世界第一大企业管理软件公司，是该领域的技术领袖和市场领导者。SAP是德语“Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung”的缩写，译为“数据处理的系统、应用和产品”。

写作初衷写这本书的初衷可以用一个字概括——“懒”。在10年的SAP实施经历中，作者解答过无数客户业务同事、客户IT同事、其他顾问甚至自己所提出的各种问题，如果按照所属应用功能领域做个排名，定价功能相关的问题一定是遥遥领先的。久而久之，我产生了一个懒人的想法——写个手册，让有疑问的人都能自己找到答案。于是我穷尽这10年的实施经验，从整理素材到最终完稿用了两年的时间完成了这本书，力求可以从概念解释、设计机理、配置分析、操作应用、案例分析、问题归纳、开发建议等各个角度全景展示定价功能，其牵涉面很广，不少内容已经超出了定价功能甚至销售与分销模块的范围。诚然，读者消化这本书是需要费些脑力和体力的，但我认为已经实现了初衷——它完全可以承担答疑解惑的工作，“懒人”终于可以少动嘴了。
随着国内企业管理现代化的长足进步以及跨国公司在中国市场的布局趋近成熟，SAP咨询行业也在悄然发生着变化：从无到有的、粗放型的大规模SAP实施项目越来越少，而精耕细作、局部优化、注重投效比的项目成为主流。早期由于人才匮乏，进入行业摸爬滚打一阵子就会被称为专家。如今，实施顾问没有高超的技术、丰富的经验已经很难立足。顾问队伍的现状是，虽然金字塔底部进入的门槛在变低，但中部、顶部的门槛却在变高，所以高端人才总是处于供不应求的状态。笔者建议相关从业人员、研究人员和希望进入这个行业的朋友不要只满足于浅尝辄止的“大概齐”，而是应该踏踏实实深入研究，让自己成为细分领域的专家，这样才能顺应市场发展的趋势，提升自身价值。这本书融入了作者的观点，它没有对整个销售与分销模块或更大主题做宽泛的介绍，而是聚焦在销售与分销模块的定价功能上深入探讨，如此窄的选题其篇幅却超过了目前市面上的绝大多数SAP类书籍，仅这一点就间接表明成为一个细分领域的专家有多难。但是，难就是价值，不是吗？希望这本书从定价功能这一细分领域出发，能为您提升自身价值出一把力。
