Dokkaebier

We founded Dokkaebier because we were disappointed that Asians represent less than 2% of the beer industry. As craft beer fans and entrepreneurs, we want to make the industry more diverse and inclusive. In the last two years, we’ve launched over 35 original craft beers, introduced Asian flavors and styles to beer connoisseurs, and brought Asian Americans to the craft beer scene in a one-of-a-kind drinking experience.

The name Dokkaebier comes from dokkaebi, the mysterious shape-shifting creatures found throughout Korean folklore. Dokkaebi are playful and mischievous spirits that love to eat, drink, and be in the company of others.
Like the dokkaebi, we regularly brew and release new craft beers that experiment with different flavors. We’ve developed original recipes featuring ingredients like bamboo tea leaves, Szechuan peppercorns, galangal, and even kimchi culture. By brewing with these relatively unfamiliar eastern ingredients and combining them with known western beer styles, we close the cultural gap by creating an entirely unique and delicious product.
